As a professional musician, I’ve tried many “day” jobs and careers including apprentice electrician, customer service at Bose and part-time teaching at Berklee College of Music. I’m mid-career and wanted a secure day job that would support me and allow me to continue my music career.

I am not happy at desk jobs and like working with my hands. I joined a lock-picking club based at MIT and enjoyed working with locks. Someone suggested the Locksmithing & Security Technology program at NBSS, and I landed here.

The NBSS program is fantastic. There is so much crammed into the 9 months I really feel prepared for whatever I encounter in the field. I’ve already done several small jobs and hope to apprentice and work in an institutional locksmithing job. Being fully trained for a career change in nine months is more than I hoped for. It was the right decision for me.
