Second year preservation carpentry students spent more than 8,000 hours over the past five months restoring the lantern of the First Parish Church in Dorchester. One sunny day in May, a crane was on site to assist in reconstructing the two sections of the lantern and the mast. In July, the lantern will be raised to its position on the steeple.
