I worked and lived in Hong Kong before NBSS. I graduated from university in Hong Kong with a mechanical engineering degree.
After university, I went into a multi-national engineering and designing firm and worked as a mechanical engineer. I was responsible for the design of mechanical ventilation and air conditioning systems for building and infrastructure projects.
It has always been my dream to work with pianos. I’m a piano player. I like its sound and I’m interested in the mechanisms and how it’s built. I like to visit piano stores and play on different pianos.
I started looking for a training program in piano technology through the Piano Technician Guild’s website and I learned that a certain number of piano technicians in US received their training at NBSS, and many of them have achieved the Registered Piano Technician (RPT) credential.
I visited the school the year before I attended to get an in-depth understanding of the program and the school.
When I was a student, I was new to Boston and I enjoyed experiencing the city. I spent weekends visiting museums and local piano stores, attending concerts and hiking with my roommate when the weather was warm.
