Toby Bloom CA ’12

I moved here from the state of Washington to attend the carpentry program. I studied engineering and business at Western Washington University but wanted a more hands-on career.

I heard about the program from a friend of my parents who attended NBSS twenty years ago, visited one spring, and applied. For the past several summers, I worked on a boat fishing for salmon in Alaska.

When I’m not doing carpentry or fishing, I work on cars. Last summer I rebuilt a car and finished it just in time to drive to Boston for the first day of classes at NBSS.
