Jonathan Issa LK ’14
This was a career change for me. I served seven years in the army as a military police officer and spent two years in Iraq.
I’ve always been fascinated by locksmithing and before I enrolled at NBSS, I took a correspondence course. The NBSS program was above and beyond what I expected. I came here knowing I wanted to start a business and, because [former Department Head] Dave Troiano also has a business, I learned both about the profession and about the business. Dave is a great mentor and fantastic instructor.
My advice to prospective students is that being disciplined and focused helps. I started my business, Jon’s Locks, in Warwick, Rhode Island, while in the program and I was already busy [before graduating].

Jonathan and his business was profiled in the Warwick Beacon! Read the story here.
