“Our training requires an amount of hand skills, and an amount of problem solving. Those are the threads that run across every full-time program and continuing education, and are connectors to what the broader community is about—and when people can meet each other in the hallways and get to know each other, they quickly realize they have a shared interest in that way.”

On Thursday, May 6, 2021, we held an extensive, behind-the-scenes virtual tour of NBSS as part of Boston Design Week 2021, hosted by Kristen Odle-Devine, Retail & Exhibit Manager, and Rob O’Dwyer, Director of Admissions & Enrollment.

Using our new 360-degree model, we were guided through the entire facility, covering its architectural features, work spaces, machine rooms, and all of the workbenches in between. Participants requested the spaces they most wanted to see, and asked questions throughout. Our Provost, Claire Fruitman, was in the background answering questions as well.

“In the Making” is a new public programs series where we connect with a range of new voices, fields, and perspectives. Learn more and view a full list of participants on the series homepage.
