City and State Grants Awarded to NBSS
NBSS is pleased to announce $165,845 in grants from the City of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Neighborhood Jobs Trust funding from the City will be distributed through the School’s Workforce Development Initiative, which provides economically disadvantaged residents of Boston with a viable pathway from high school to meaningful, lifetime employment.
The remainder of the funding comes through Governor Baker’s Workforce Skills Capital grant, which will make it possible for NBSS to purchase equipment for the now-expanded Carpentry program.
NBSS is committed to improving the skills and job prospects of individuals who have historically faced barriers to employment. Look for more details on these and other important development news in the spring issue of Benchmarks.
