A Growing Community at the School
Arriving a day later than anticipated (due to a snow day), on Tuesday February 9 NBSS welcomed 23 new students to several of its craft and trade programs. Coming from occupational backgrounds as diverse as interior design, healthcare, marketing, the military, and more, they joined over 150 of their peers in pursuit of intensive, hands-on training at the School.
Following a morning orientation and introduction to their workspaces, NBSS’s Student Success team welcomed them with a traditional PB&J lunch and table hockey in the afternoon of their first day.
In addition, a new staff member joined the School in late January. Kevin Derrick is NBSS’s new Director of Marketing and Communications, and he’s already working on a number of initiatives across departments, programs, and teams. Kevin holds degrees in Psychology and Interior Design, and comes with experience working for creative ventures that include a design school, architecture firm, and art gallery. He’s looking forward to showcasing the NBSS’s one-of-a-kind offerings and its tremendous talent.
Lastly, we congratulate our newest alumni: those students who recently graduated from the School! They become part of an accomplished cohort of alumni, and we look forward to hearing great things in their future careers.
Please join us in welcoming these new members of our community, and wishing them all the best in their endeavors.
