40 Years of Bookbinding and Preservation Carpentry
2026 marks 40 years since the founding of two NBSS Career Training programs—Bookbinding and Preservation Carpentry—both established in 1986. This exhibition presents student and alumni work from the communities of both programs, showcasing the high level of work and skill over years of instruction.
For Bookbinding, view a juried selection of work from current students, alumni, current and former faculty, and guest instructors, including design bindings, historical models, artist books, miniatures, repair and conservation work, boxes, enclosures, and more.
For Preservation Carpentry, the full front door facade recreation of the John Hancock Mansion will be on display, featuring the first and second stories installed together. Also on view will be various displays of student work completed in the program.
