In the Making: Buying a Business
“Having your own business, you learn so much about yourself in the process. Parts of me have grown that I didn’t know were there. I learned a lot about what I can handle and what I can’t.”
Crafting a Business — On Thursday, March 12, 2026 we held a conversation with NBSS alumni Geraldine Kish Perry JM ’00 and Nicoline Meyer BB ’23, who shared their individual journeys, challenges, and insights into the significant venture of purchasing an existing business.
After many years as a bench jeweler working alongside the founding partner, Geraldine Kish Perry JM ’00 purchased a stake in Fairbank & Perry Goldsmiths. More recently, Nicoline Meyer BB ’23 seized a unique opportunity to acquire an established bindery and a home in one move.
