Before enrolling in the Cabinet & Furniture Making program, I worked in museums doing art conservation and curatorial work.

I originally thought that completing the Cabinet & Furniture Making program would be one step in my education and I would go to graduate school for conservation after NBSS. Instead after graduating in 2006, I worked full time for a furniture restoration company for four years. Now I work part time for that company and part time for myself, and I plan to start my own business next year.

My biggest difficulty part about committing to the program was financial. The logistics of moving away from my family for two years was difficult but it was worth it.

For the rest of my life, I’ll be able to rely on the high quality and practical skills I learned at NBSS… and the learning environment is very supportive. It is very satisfying to work creatively with my hands and to have a job where every day offers new challenges.
