Gus Lammers CF ’13
Before coming to North Bennet Street School, I worked in retail remodeling. Since 1996, I worked construction and carpentry throughout the Northeast in the backdrop of the retail scene – setting up big box stores and large furniture chains.
I have always appreciated good craftsmanship so when I heard of NBSS, I decided to take one of the workshops. After completing the Fundamentals of Fine Woodworking workshop, I decided to apply to the two-year program. Understanding the fundamentals of the trade provides a greater understanding of how things work and how to improve one’s skills. The level of precision you learn to attain becomes the standard by which to judge your own performance and grow as a craftsman.
When not at work, what I enjoy most is spending time with my wife and three sons. We enjoy hiking, learning about nature, skateboarding, doing crafts, reading and playing with Legos.
