Jewelry Student Wins WJA Scholarship
August 3, 2015
Current student Miranda Harter received a $1000 Women’s Jewelry Association scholarship for bench jewelry.
In her essay, Miranda wrote, ” Studying to become a bench jeweler seemed like an ideal way to combine my love for jewelry with my skill and passion as an artist. I believe that my attention to detail, drive to learn, and my love for hand craft will turn into a long and happy career in the industry, whether I work for other people or end up creating my own designs. In the meantime, a scholarship from WJA would benefit both myself as a student, and an industry that is apparently looking at a shortage of skilled bench jewelers.”
