Cabinet & Furniture Making instructor and alumnus Matt Wajda CF ’01 gives a detailed overview of the machine room in his shared shop space in Rollinsford, New Hampshire, located in a historic mill building. He originally created this tour for our full-time Cabinet & Furniture Making students this spring, and we’re happy to share it with you too.

Matt, a 2001 graduate of the Cabinet & Furniture Making program and long-time NBSS Continuing Education woodworking instructor, also regularly teaches machine maintenance units in our full-time woodworking programs. He joined the full-time furniture making program faculty in 2017. He founded River City Woodworking in 2000, which produces high-end furnishings and millwork for residential and commercial clients, is a long-time member of the Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers, and a contributor to Fine Woodworking magazine’s video series.

Matt moved into the shop in 2002, and shares the shop space with three other woodworkers, Lynn Symanski, Adam Iovanna, and fellow NBSS alum Laure Rowan NBSS CF ’01. They have a radial arm saw, Porter jointer, Delta planer, Northfield and Powermatic table saws, Northfield band saw, shaper, drill press, mortising machine, and Yates pattern makers lathe.

We love seeing shops, stores, and studios of all kinds. Send a note to info@nbss.edu to have your shop featured in this series.
