Violin Making & Repair on WCVB Chronicle

In October 2022, Chronicle on WCVB Channel 5 visited our Violin Making & Repair program, as part of a segment on instrument makers of Massachusetts.

Interviewed in the clip are Department Head and Instructor Roman Barnas sharing highlights of working with his student luthiers, and students Eliot Smith VM ’22 and Emmeline Nguyen VM ’25 relating how they found NBSS and their top accomplishments so far.

Also featured in Chronicle’s series were a bass repair shop in Billerica, a Greek instrument maker in Lowell, a Brookline-based choir supporting young Black musicians, and music therapy programs making a difference for local kids.
